Chairman’s Address 2013/14

Assalamu’alaikum and greetings,

My name is Shahrul Hamdan and I am the newly elected Chairman for the United Kingdom and Eire Council for Malaysian Students.
First of all let me thank the readers of this newsletter for agreeing to subscribe to our monthly personalised UKEC newsletter to be informed of our upcoming events and plans. We hope to hear some feedback from you if there are any progressive changes that the new committee can do.

Taking office, there were many challenges that we faced together as the committee; there was obviously the issue in catering to the demands of 18,000 Malaysian students in te United Kingsom and Ireland.
The target audience of UKEC is immense – we aim to utilise our efficient and centralised committee to best represent the interests of the many Malaysians studying here in the UK.

All in all, I hope to work together hand in hand with anyone affiliated with UKEC and listen to the concerns of the grassroots.
I believe people are assets and I hope we can develop a personal and professional relationship together for the better future of UKEC and most importantly our country.

Assalamu’alaikum and thank you.
