Impact [I]mpact Stories

IMPACT Stories is a one-day event comprised of esteemed speakers from different fields of expertise  who have keen interests in sharing their journey and success stories with the hope of inspiring the youth to create a ripple of change within the society. Furthermore, it provides an avenue for Malaysian students in the United Kingdom and Eire to participate in a sharing session that opens an opportunity for them to explore the unknowns through the sharing session with the experts about their experiences in their respective fields and backgrounds. This year, the theme of Impact Stories UK 2019 was Journey of Discovery : Real Life, Real Experience, Real Knowledge.

Care For All is a regional event that addresses and emphasizes the issues of mental health at hand while sharing and educating coping mechanisms for students going through it. The main aim is to ensure participants leave the event with a proper outlook and mindset of mental health with hopes of cultivating a sense of awareness towards the journey of recovery. Previous CFA were organised in Bristol, Belfast, Glasgow, Essex and Sheffield.

In conjunction with ‘Hey It’s OK’ Campaign, UKECares introduced ‘Care For All’ which is a regional event that seeks to provide a platform to educate and emphasise the importance of our mental health. As we advocate our continuous support towards people with mental health issues, this event aims to foster a positive environment where students can share and learn about the realm of mental health issues whilst also encouraging one another in the journey towards recovery.

UKEC acknowledges the imperativeness behind addressing such vital issues and we endeavour to put an end to the social stigma surrounding mental health. In collaboration with Mercy Malaysia UK and Southampton Malaysian Student Association, ‘Care For All Southampton’ took place last weekend and it was an absolute success! Our participants engaged in a sharing session where thoughts and feelings were shared anonymously with peers and they definitely enjoyed the yoga activity at the end of the event as it was truly therapeutic.

We would like to thank our participants for joining the event, Mercy Malaysia UK for their continuous support and Southampton Malaysian Student Association for hosting the event!

Stay tuned for the next Care For All as it might be happening in your region!
