Projek Amanat Negara VII 2010
Projek Amanat Negara is back! Post-PAN : Special Session On 1 Malaysia, see details below PDF Print

Projek Amanat Negara is a one day conference that serves as a platform for intellectual and scholarly discourse between influential figures and Malaysian student leaders. This purpose of this conference is for young Malaysian students to gain indispensable knowledge from prominent speakers who come from diverse backgrounds and fields. This is a golden chance for you to meet like-minded students to debate and share your thoughts on how to achieve a better tomorrow for Malaysia. PAN also creates an opportunity for all students to voice their opinions and to confront the most pressing issues facing young Malaysians today.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘A March Forward For A Better Tomorrow.’ Slightly over half a century ago, our forefathers achieved independence from colonial rule. Their noble fight for freedom and subsequent efforts in building the then fledgling Malaya laid the foundation for the Malaysia we know today. In this day and age, our challenges are very different but equally difficult to overcome. In the midst of global economic uncertainty, we face an unprecedented political climate as a result of the last general elections. We have also had to contend with numerous national issues which have raised poignant questions on the fundamental values and guiding principles of Malaysia. It is perhaps timely that we take an objective look at our past and present in order to chart the way forward. As young Malaysians, it is incumbent upon us to decide the course of action our nation will take in time to come.

This year, the sessions for PAN are as follows:

“The Rise of China and India – The Effect on Southeast Asia”
Tan Sri Dr Ramon Navaratnam - Malaysian Economist, Sunway Group Corporate Advisor

“Religious freedom and the Protection of Human Rights - Their Links to Global Peace”
