LSESU Malaysia Club Malaysia Night 2018 | DIVIDE

This year’s Malaysia Night follows Matthew as he moves from his small town to the city to pursue his corporate dreams. In an environment cold and foreign, he inadvertently meets an old friend from his past, Nadia. Yet things are not always as they seem, for rumbling beneath the bright lights and skyscrapers, a movement is beginning as the poor, homeless and disillusioned begin to band together, threatening to tear down the system built by the established and powerful. Soon, Nadia and Matthew find themselves together at the very centre of the conflict as they are unwittingly thrust into events that will force them to question their very ideals.

LSESU Malaysia Club presents DIVIDE, a story which touches upon the black and white way in which we increasingly see the world around us and how we refuse to acknowledge or validate the opinions and views of those who disagree with us. Through the night, we hope to bring to reality a tale which addresses the changing world around us, while at the same time reiterating and celebrating the ideals which continue to bind us to our unique Malaysian heritage.
